Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS), which rose 5.21% or 0.1755 points to trade at 3.5455 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) added 2.39% or 0.1520 points to end at 6.5240 and REN (LISBON:RENE) was up 2.30% or 0.0585 points to 2.5975 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which lost 8.25% or 0.1740 points to trade at 1.9350 in late trade. Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) declined 5.23% or 0.04 points to end at 0.81 and Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) shed 2.39% or 0.0130 points to 0.5300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 38 to 31 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.76% or 0.48 to $63.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.37% or 0.22 to hit $60.22 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.46% or 5.50 to trade at $1180.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.51% to 1.1228, while EUR/GBP fell 0.72% to 0.7180.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.32% at 95.37.
