Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 11.24% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) added 7.97% or 0.011 points to end at 0.149 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 6.67% or 0.042 points to 0.639 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which lost 10.00% or 0.2600 points to trade at 2.3400 in late trade. Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr) declined 10.00% or 0.0770 points to end at 0.6930 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) shed 7.03% or 0.026 points to 0.344.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 54 to 37 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.18% or 2.45 to $1329.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.19% or 1.02 to hit $45.63 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.14% or 1.02 to trade at $46.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1080, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.8334.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 96.49.
