Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Palm Oil and Trading sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR), which rose 18.36% or 114.80 points to trade at 740.00 at the close. Lanka Ceramic PLC (CM:CERA) added 12.24% or 15.70 points to end at 144.00 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was up 11.12% or 150.10 points to 1499.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which lost 24.84% or 471.90 points to trade at 1428.00 in late trade. Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) declined 20.88% or 475.00 points to end at 1800.00 and Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) shed 20.00% or 18.00 points to 72.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 91 and 39 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.18% or 0.08 to $45.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.45% or 0.21 to hit $46.87 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.51% or 6.85 to trade at $1325.45 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.16% to 191.340, while USD/LKR rose 0.38% to 146.055.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 97.14.
