Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Food & Beverages and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE), which rose 7.84% or 0.400 points to trade at 5.500 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) added 1.56% or 0.020 points to end at 1.300 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) was up 1.55% or 0.300 points to 19.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE), which lost 5.41% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.700 in late trade. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) declined 3.08% or 0.020 points to end at 0.630 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 2.94% or 0.020 points to 0.660.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 9 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.16% or 0.52 to $44.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.02% or 0.47 to hit $45.73 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.68% or 9.00 to trade at $1322.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.14% to 3.3225, while EUR/PEN rose 0.42% to 3.6663.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.48% at 97.41.
