Proactive Investors - Wizz Air Holdings PLC (LON:WIZZ) shares lost altitude on Wednesday after the airline reported a drop in load factors over the course of September.
Though passenger numbers ticked up 3.9% to 5.76 million during the month, load factors fell by 0.7% to 91.7% as flights were less booked up.
This was as capacity increased by 4.8% in September against a year earlier to 6.28 million seats.
Wizz noted the improvement came despite aircraft groundings relating to Pratt & Whitney engine checks, while the passenger growth was its best over the year so far.
Over the year between September 2023 and 2024, Wizz said it had carried 62.29 million passengers, up 8.2%.
Capacity increased by 9.2% to 69.16 million in the meantime, leaving load factors 0.9% lower at 90.1%.
Shares dipped 1.2% in early trading.
