Proactive Investors - As signs of spring emerge, London's results season is still going strong, with results this coming week from life insurers Aviva and L&G, to bookmaker Entain, cybersecurity specialist Darktrace and sausage roll maker Greggs .

In macro matters, there are two major central bank decisions (Japan and Canada) plus some illuminating economic data likely to inform the central banks of England, the US and EU the week after - most notably the US jobs report at the end of the week.

MONDAY 6 MARCH

Results due on Monday are expected to include bullish releases from shipbroker Clarkson and in-car monitoring group Seeing Machines .

In January, Clarkson told investors it expects to beat market forecasts thanks to strong trading in the final quarter.

Last month, Seeing Machines hailed a record first-half result and said it was on track to meet expectations for the full year.

TUESDAY 7 MARCH

Direct Line Insurance Group PLC results come hot on the heels of chief executive Penny James agreeing to step down with immediate effect, two weeks after a surprise profit warning and an axing of its dividend in response to increased weather-related claims and continued inflation in its motor division.

Elsewhere, in Greggs PLC prelims investors will be looking to hear how hot cost and price inflation have been in recent weeks, as well as management's plans for store expansion and shareholder returns.

WEDNESDAY 8 MARCH

Life company L&G and general insurer Admiral report, with their shares having gone in opposite directions in the lead up to results, and elsewhere in the insurance sector there's also Hiscox (LON:HSX).

Darktrace PLC (LSE:DARK) shares have been on a rollercoaster rise since they floated in 2021, with investors likely to be keen for an update after a short-seller recently attacked the quality of its accounting measures.

Wealth manager Quilter also reports hot from analysts at Citi issuing a ‘sell’ rating, saying "weak performance" and outflows from its active fund range are likely to take a big bite out of profits.

THURSDAY 9 MARCH

Following its life insurance rival earlier in the week, results from Aviva PLC on Thursday will see the spotlight again on shareholder returns as well as other things management might spend the company's spare cash on.

Entain PLC (LSE:ENT) always welcomes spare cash from its customers, while the focus of its results might be more on the route its US joint venture s making towards turning a profit.

Not a listed company but with a big influence on the high street, John Lewis Partnership is due to release results on Thursday too, fresh from the shock exit of a key executive.

Blue-chip housebuilders continue to report, with Berkeley following Vistry earlier in the week and rivals Persimmon (LON:PSN) and Taylor Wimpey (LON:TW) reported a week earlier, both announcing a strong step-up in selling rate but Persimmon shares tumbling as it warned that a drop in expected completions in 2023 would hit margins, while falling house prices are also likely to be alluded to.

Elsewhere will be the big macro data of the week, US non-farm payrolls.
