Investing.com – Denmark equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Copenhagen, the OMX Copenhagen 20 gained 1.14% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Copenhagen 20 were Nordea Bank AB (CO:NDA), which rose 3.39% or 1.95 points to trade at 59.55 at the close. Danske Bank A/S (CO:DANSKE) added 2.50% or 4.4 points to end at 180.7 and A.P. Moller - Maersk A (CO:MAERSKa) was up 2.12% or 170 points to 8190 in late trade.
Biggest losers included TDC A/S (CO:TDC), which lost 0.63% or 0.22 points to trade at 34.92 in late trade. Novozymes A/S B (CO:NZYMb) declined 0.09% or 0.3 points to end at 330.5 and Genmab (CO:GEN) shed 0.09% or 1.0 points to 1159.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 34 and 22 ended unchanged on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.90% or 0.41 to $45.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.33% or 0.62 to hit $47.28 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.05% or 13.95 to trade at $1318.35 a troy ounce.
USD/DKK was up 0.18% to 6.7610, while EUR/DKK rose 0.00% to 7.4394.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 97.20.
