Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Staples and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Banking, Services and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.18% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index declined 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which rose 14.87% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.78 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 2.58% or 0.024 points to end at 0.954 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 2.50% or 0.030 points to 1.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK), which lost 1.72% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.140 in late trade. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) declined 1.27% or 0.040 points to end at 3.120 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) shed 0.93% or 0.010 points to 1.060.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which rose 4.05% to 3.850, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 3.90% to settle at 0.800 and Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which gained 2.24% to close at 1.370.
The worst performers were Fujairah Cement Industries Co PSC (AD:FCI) which was down 8.70% to 1.050 in late trade, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which lost 2.41% to settle at 0.810 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 2.22% to 0.8800 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 rose and 9 declined, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.70% or 0.33 to $47.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.24% or 0.13 to hit $53.65 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.76% or 10.22 to trade at $1340.98 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.14% to 4.4125.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 91.46.
