Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Banking and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Services, Transport and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.02%, while the ADX General index fell 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 1.63% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.250 at the close. Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) added 0.94% or 0.080 points to end at 8.550 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was up 0.69% or 0.006 points to 0.880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX), which lost 2.06% or 0.100 points to trade at 4.750 in late trade. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) declined 1.54% or 0.007 points to end at 0.448 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) shed 1.46% or 0.030 points to 2.030.
The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which rose 14.89% to 1.080, National Bank of Fujairah PJSC (AD:NBF) which was up 11.67% to settle at 3.35 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which gained 2.78% to close at 0.740.
The worst performers were Al Khaleej Investment Co PJSC (AD:KICO) which was down 9.91% to 4.00 in late trade, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which lost 3.57% to settle at 0.270 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 2.60% to 0.7500 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 rose and 7 declined, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.08% or 0.04 to $51.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.19% or 0.11 to hit $57.81 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.72% or 9.37 to trade at $1292.33 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED fell 0.47% to 4.3101.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 93.26.
