Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Services and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 1.08% to hit a new 52-week low, while the ADX General index lost 0.06%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX), which rose 2.20% or 0.100 points to trade at 4.650 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 1.41% or 0.010 points to end at 0.718 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was up 1.33% or 0.040 points to 3.040 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB), which lost 7.59% or 0.460 points to trade at 5.600 in late trade. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 2.79% or 0.050 points to end at 1.740 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) shed 1.83% or 0.020 points to 1.070.

The top performers on the ADX General were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which rose 4.31% to 3.390, Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which was up 2.96% to settle at 2.09 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 2.44% to close at 0.840.

The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 7.39% to 1.880 in late trade, National Takaful Co PJSC (AD:WATA) which lost 5.88% to settle at 0.48 and Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which was down 5.31% to 1.070 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 15 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 fell and 11 advanced, while 10 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.67% or 0.41 to $61.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.70% or 0.45 to hit $64.28 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 6.40 to trade at $1311.50 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED fell 0.07% to 4.4754.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 90.72.
