Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Services, Consumer Staples and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.34%, while the ADX General index fell 0.45%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 7.41% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.160 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) added 2.44% or 0.010 points to end at 0.420 and Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) was up 1.32% or 0.007 points to 0.538 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which lost 7.14% or 5.00 points to trade at 65.00 in late trade. Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) declined 1.67% or 0.020 points to end at 1.180 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) shed 1.57% or 0.01 points to 0.69.

The top performers on the ADX General were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which rose 6.90% to 0.310, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which was up 1.98% to settle at 1.0300 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which gained 1.39% to close at 0.730.

The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 9.87% to 2.100 in late trade, Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which lost 1.27% to settle at 2.340 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was down 0.95% to 5.20 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 15 and 6 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 8 fell and 8 advanced, while 11 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $54.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.40% or 0.24 to hit $60.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1277.40 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6728, while EUR/AED rose 0.27% to 4.2786.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 94.52.
