The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Bank VTB PAO DRC (LON:VTBRq), which rose 4.21% or 0.046 points to trade at 1.138 at the close. Auto Trader Group Plc (LON:AUTOA) added 3.47% or 19.80 points to end at 590.40 and Rightmove PLC (LON:RMV) was up 2.70% or 16.20 points to 616.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included United Utilities Group PLC (LON:UU), which lost 2.35% or 22.80 points to trade at 946.80 in late trade. Centrica PLC (LON:CNA) declined 1.79% or 1.04 points to end at 57.00 and Severn Trent PLC (LON:SVT) shed 1.60% or 39.0 points to 2393.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1310 to 951 and 211 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.70% or 12.15 to $1744.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.07% or 0.64 to hit $60.34 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.98% or 0.62 to trade at $63.90 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.03% to 1.3743, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8689.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 91.890.
