Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare Equipment & Services, Food & Drug Retailers and Equity Investment Instruments sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.16%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Carnival PLC (LON:CCL), which rose 8.24% or 118.5 points to trade at 1556.5 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG) added 7.06% or 11.71 points to end at 177.46 and Tui AG (LON:TUIT) was up 7.61% or 27.14 points to 383.94 in late trade.

Biggest losers included GMK Norilskiy Nikel PAO DRC (LON:NKELyq), which lost 8.85% or 3.38 points to trade at 34.81 in late trade. Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO) declined 6.29% or 161.00 points to end at 2398.00 and Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust PLC (LON:SMT) shed 5.73% or 77.08 points to 1268.92.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1415 to 930 and 81 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.70% or 30.20 to $1807.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.12% or 1.85 to hit $61.11 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.64% or 1.64 to trade at $63.78 a barrel.

GBP/USD was up 0.26% to 1.4050, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8646.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 90.142.
