Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Automobiles & Parts, Chemicals and Healthcare Equipment & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Croda International PLC (LON:CRDA), which rose 3.30% or 138.00 points to trade at 4,321.00 at the close. Smith & Nephew PLC (LON:SN) added 2.96% or 33.50 points to end at 1,165.00 and Prudential PLC (LON:PRU) was up 2.70% or 18.40 points to 700.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF), which lost 4.02% or 745.00 points to trade at 17,800.00 in late trade. Next PLC (LON:NXT) declined 3.55% or 358.00 points to end at 9,742.00 and Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) shed 2.44% or 15.50 points to 621.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1132 to 658 and 672 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.83% or 22.40 to $2,672.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.05% or 0.71 to hit $68.38 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.58 to trade at $71.67 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.34, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 100.22.
