Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate Investments, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Adel Kalemcilik (IS:ADEL), which rose 14.94% or 9.60 points to trade at 73.85 at the close. Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) added 6.12% or 0.090 points to end at 1.560 and Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) was up 5.34% or 0.70 points to 13.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE), which lost 9.02% or 1.150 points to trade at 11.600 in late trade. Vestel (IS:VESTL) declined 7.56% or 0.410 points to end at 5.010 and Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) shed 7.14% or 0.200 points to 2.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 287 to 110 and 17 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.26% or 3.10 to $1190.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.94% or 0.57 to hit $60.97 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.53 to trade at $68.05 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.52% to 2.6905, while EUR/TRY rose 0.89% to 3.0523.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.11% at 94.22.
