Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Sports, Wood, Paper & Printing and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.12% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which rose 3.90% or 0.39 points to trade at 10.39 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 3.45% or 0.010 points to end at 0.300 and Aselsan (IS:ASELS) was up 3.20% or 0.35 points to 11.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Deva Holding (IS:DEVA), which lost 5.36% or 0.200 points to trade at 3.530 in late trade. Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) declined 5.33% or 0.040 points to end at 0.710 and Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) shed 4.59% or 0.200 points to 4.160.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 306 to 64 and 40 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.17% or 2.05 to $1185.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.29% or 0.14 to hit $48.08 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.16 to trade at $49.11 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.66% to 3.4516, while EUR/TRY rose 1.89% to 3.6531.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 101.63.
