Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Transport and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS), which rose 2.16% or 0.110 points to trade at 5.210 at the close. Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) added 2.08% or 0.28 points to end at 13.75 and Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA) was up 1.87% or 0.120 points to 6.540 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE), which lost 20.00% or 0.730 points to trade at 2.920 in late trade. Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) declined 4.42% or 0.85 points to end at 18.40 and Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS) shed 3.15% or 0.610 points to 18.770.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 226 to 123 and 57 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.16% or 2.01 to $1256.61 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.47% or 0.21 to hit $44.67 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.66% or 0.31 to trade at $47.23 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.21% to 3.5055, while EUR/TRY rose 0.14% to 3.9242.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 97.18.
