Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Basic Metals and Sports sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Erbosan (IS:ERBOS), which rose 4.45% or 1.50 points to trade at 35.20 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 4.35% or 0.010 points to end at 0.240 and Good-Year (IS:GOODY) was up 3.74% or 2.20 points to 60.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which lost 4.24% or 0.50 points to trade at 11.30 in late trade. Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) declined 3.50% or 0.22 points to end at 6.06 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) shed 3.48% or 0.040 points to 1.110.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 266 to 131 and 13 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.34% or 3.70 to $1093.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.99% or 0.44 to hit $44.22 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.16% or 0.57 to trade at $48.95 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.07% to 2.7780, while EUR/TRY rose 0.52% to 3.0478.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 97.64.
