Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Tourism sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER), which rose 3.95% or 1.48 points to trade at 38.94 at the close. Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) added 3.40% or 0.050 points to end at 1.520 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) was up 3.00% or 0.62 points to 21.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR), which lost 4.73% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.410 in late trade. Tupras (IS:TUPRS) declined 4.31% or 2.75 points to end at 61.10 and Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) shed 3.93% or 1.00 points to 24.42.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 169 to 152 and 81 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.57% or 7.70 to $1354.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.07% or 0.03 to hit $45.17 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.11 to trade at $46.51 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.25% to 2.8997, while EUR/TRY fell 1.57% to 3.2017.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 96.45.
