Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Food & Beverages and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 8.11% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.400 at the close. Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) added 6.99% or 20.00 points to end at 306.00 and Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) was up 5.77% or 0.120 points to 2.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which lost 6.21% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.510 in late trade. Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) declined 4.81% or 0.130 points to end at 2.570 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) shed 3.25% or 0.040 points to 1.190.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 183 to 152 and 68 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.63% or 7.75 to $1225.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.10% or 0.58 to hit $53.19 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 0.61 to trade at $55.69 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.24% to 3.7193, while EUR/TRY rose 0.18% to 3.9275.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 101.88.
