Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Metals and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 4.35% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.240 at the close. Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) added 2.94% or 0.050 points to end at 1.750 and Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) was up 2.80% or 0.60 points to 22.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included T.S.K.B. (IS:TSKB), which lost 2.68% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.450 in late trade. Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ) declined 2.09% or 0.20 points to end at 9.36 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) shed 2.04% or 0.65 points to 31.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 255 to 142 and 12 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.75% or 8.30 to $1110.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.94% or 1.30 to hit $45.45 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.92% or 0.92 to trade at $48.49 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.07% to 3.0357, while EUR/TRY rose 0.50% to 3.4221.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 95.60.
