Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Information Technology and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS), which rose 5.99% or 0.95 points to trade at 16.80 at the close. Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) added 5.69% or 12.50 points to end at 232.00 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 4.35% or 0.010 points to 0.240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which lost 3.77% or 0.45 points to trade at 11.50 in late trade. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 3.17% or 0.080 points to end at 2.440 and Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) shed 2.97% or 0.23 points to 7.51.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 223 to 177 and 9 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.64% or 7.00 to $1083.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.68% or 0.77 to hit $44.97 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.85% or 0.93 to trade at $49.06 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.34% to 2.7921, while EUR/TRY rose 0.18% to 3.0344.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 98.23.
