Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Technology and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY), which rose 8.00% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.810 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) added 3.93% or 0.60 points to end at 15.87 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) was up 3.91% or 0.050 points to 1.330 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Do-Co (IS:DOCO), which lost 6.54% or 21.20 points to trade at 302.80 in late trade. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 4.35% or 0.010 points to end at 0.220 and Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) shed 3.33% or 0.74 points to 21.46.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 182 to 146 and 79 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.20% or 2.55 to $1274.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.81% or 0.39 to hit $48.70 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.30 to trade at $49.58 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.12% to 2.9672, while EUR/TRY fell 0.27% to 3.3460.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 94.69.
