Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Textile & Leather and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 5.54% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS), which fell 1.57% or 1.05 points to trade at 65.90 at the close. Enerjisa Enerji AS (IS:ENJSA) fell 1.57% or 1.05 points to end at 66.00 and Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) was down 2.20% or 1.10 points to 48.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kontrolmatik Teknoloji Enerji ve Mu (IS:KONTR), which lost 10.00% or 5.95 points to trade at 53.55 in late trade. Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR) declined 9.96% or 3.62 points to end at 32.74 and Sdt Uzay ve Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:SDTTR) shed 9.59% or 28.25 points to 266.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 550 to 18 and 5 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.94% or 23.30 to $2,446.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.41% or 0.30 to hit $73.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.24 to trade at $76.57 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.68% to 33.39, while EUR/TRY rose 0.84% to 36.68.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.58% at 102.39.
