Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Sports and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 2.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA), which rose 4.20% or 0.250 points to trade at 6.200 at the close. Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) added 3.08% or 0.360 points to end at 12.040 and Turkiye Sise ve Cam Fabrikalari AS (IS:SISE) was up 1.64% or 0.080 points to 4.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO), which lost 7.22% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.900 in late trade. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) declined 6.91% or 0.380 points to end at 5.120 and Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) shed 6.57% or 0.87 points to 12.37.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 367 to 26 and 17 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.39% or 4.80 to $1222.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.86% or 1.26 to hit $68.92 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.30% or 0.94 to trade at $73.33 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.44% to 5.0665, while EUR/TRY rose 1.15% to 5.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 94.78.
