Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Holdings & Investments, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 2.55% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kayseri Seker Fabrikasi AS (IS:KAYSE), which rose 0.46% or 0.12 points to trade at 26.36 at the close. Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) added 0.17% or 0.50 points to end at 295.00 and Yeo Teknoloji Enerji ve Endustri AS (IS:YEOTK) was up 0.11% or 0.20 points to 179.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA), which lost 7.89% or 5.70 points to trade at 66.50 in late trade. Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL) declined 6.31% or 1.02 points to end at 15.14 and Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL) shed 6.23% or 4.50 points to 67.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 470 to 95 and 11 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.42% or 35.80 to $2,552.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.42% or 1.77 to hit $74.78 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.21% or 1.71 to trade at $78.93 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.75% to 33.96, while EUR/TRY rose 0.83% to 38.01.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.79% at 100.60.
