Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Insurance, Electricity and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 2.12% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK), which rose 3.79% or 0.15 points to trade at 4.11 at the close. Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) added 1.89% or 0.88 points to end at 47.40 and Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) was up 1.08% or 1.05 points to 98.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sok Marketler (IS:SOKM), which lost 9.26% or 4.85 points to trade at 47.50 in late trade. Borusan Yatirim ve Pazarlama AS (IS:BRYAT) declined 8.32% or 197.00 points to end at 2,172.00 and Bera Holding AS (IS:BERA) shed 5.86% or 0.95 points to 15.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 500 to 65 and 14 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.07% or 1.75 to $2,541.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.11% or 0.73 to hit $66.48 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.77% or 0.53 to trade at $69.72 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.07% to 33.99, while EUR/TRY fell 0.18% to 37.44.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 101.64.
