Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Metal Products & Machinery and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.89% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA), which rose 3.77% or 0.130 points to trade at 3.580 at the close. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) added 2.99% or 0.120 points to end at 4.130 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) was up 1.90% or 0.42 points to 22.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO), which lost 9.32% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.070 in late trade. Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) declined 9.12% or 4.06 points to end at 40.48 and Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) shed 7.91% or 0.580 points to 6.750.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 272 to 94 and 42 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.18% or 2.30 to $1301.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.33% or 0.22 to hit $66.58 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.66% or 0.50 to trade at $76.38 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.69% to 4.6280, while EUR/TRY rose 1.18% to 5.4636.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 93.58.
