Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR), which rose 6.45% or 8.00 points to trade at 132.00 at the close. Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) added 5.40% or 1.300 points to end at 25.380 and Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (IS:AKSEN) was up 4.70% or 0.170 points to 3.790 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turkiye Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB), which lost 5.56% or 0.61 points to trade at 10.37 in late trade. Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) declined 4.46% or 0.280 points to end at 6.000 and Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) shed 4.42% or 0.210 points to 4.540.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 255 to 105 and 43 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.54% or 6.90 to $1274.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.16% or 0.09 to hit $57.26 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.44% or 0.28 to trade at $63.99 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.47% to 3.8853, while EUR/TRY rose 1.14% to 4.4977.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 94.97.
