Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Sports, Textile & Leather and Tourism sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.49% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL), which rose 4.35% or 0.430 points to trade at 10.310 at the close. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) added 3.54% or 0.140 points to end at 4.100 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) was up 1.25% or 0.26 points to 21.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which lost 9.52% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.380 in late trade. Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) declined 8.85% or 0.430 points to end at 4.430 and Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO) shed 8.50% or 0.210 points to 2.260.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 346 to 39 and 19 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.22% or 2.90 to $1311.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.57% or 1.82 to hit $68.91 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.06% or 1.57 to trade at $74.60 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.93% to 4.3074, while EUR/TRY rose 0.48% to 5.1143.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 92.93.
