Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Sports, Basic Metals and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.39% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR), which rose 9.96% or 3.66 points to trade at 40.40 at the close. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) added 5.48% or 2.67 points to end at 51.35 and Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) was up 4.67% or 1.70 points to 38.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR), which lost 5.66% or 34.00 points to trade at 567.00 in late trade. Vestel Beyaz Esya Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESBE) declined 5.31% or 1.16 points to end at 20.70 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) shed 5.26% or 13.00 points to 234.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 440 to 115 and 13 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.11% or 2.65 to $2,322.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.07% or 1.56 to hit $77.09 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.83% or 1.46 to trade at $81.08 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.46% to 32.39, while EUR/TRY fell 0.30% to 34.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.00% at 104.86.
