Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Telecoms and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Sise ve Cam Fabrikalari AS (IS:SISE), which rose 3.21% or 0.160 points to trade at 5.150 at the close. Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA) added 3.08% or 0.94 points to end at 31.50 and Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) was up 2.90% or 0.60 points to 21.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD), which lost 6.87% or 0.180 points to trade at 2.440 in late trade. Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) declined 5.46% or 0.22 points to end at 3.81 and Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) shed 4.80% or 0.220 points to 4.360.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 238 to 138 and 30 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.35% or 4.40 to $1244.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $53.03 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.45 to trade at $62.14 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.48% to 5.3812, while EUR/TRY rose 2.51% to 6.1148.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 96.803.
