Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Transport, Metal Products & Machinery and Tourism sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vakif Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:VKGYO), which rose 6.18% or 0.160 points to trade at 2.750 at the close. ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) added 3.10% or 0.170 points to end at 5.650 and Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) was up 2.83% or 0.43 points to 15.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which lost 8.65% or 0.390 points to trade at 4.120 in late trade. Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) declined 8.37% or 0.390 points to end at 4.270 and Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN) shed 5.61% or 0.120 points to 2.020.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 287 to 91 and 28 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.18% or 2.40 to $1317.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.52% or 0.32 to hit $61.47 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.56% or 0.37 to trade at $65.14 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.52% to 3.8248, while EUR/TRY rose 0.52% to 4.6942.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 90.11.
