Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Peker Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:PEKGY), which rose 5.81% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.64 at the close. Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) added 3.97% or 2.70 points to end at 70.75 and Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF) was up 3.38% or 9.25 points to 283.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AGROT), which lost 9.96% or 1.26 points to trade at 11.39 in late trade. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) declined 4.08% or 1.22 points to end at 28.70 and Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL) shed 3.81% or 2.65 points to 66.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 411 to 154 and 16 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.34% or 9.04 to $2,652.96 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.54% or 0.38 to hit $70.46 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.86% or 0.63 to trade at $73.82 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.11% to 35.01, while EUR/TRY rose 0.10% to 36.72.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 106.75.
