Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Sports, Insurance and Leasing & Factoring sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO), which rose 2.57% or 5.30 points to trade at 211.40 at the close. Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS) added 2.29% or 1.60 points to end at 71.50 and Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:BTCIM) was up 1.98% or 2.70 points to 139.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Is Yatirim Menkul Degerler AS (IS:ISMEN), which lost 4.28% or 1.90 points to trade at 42.52 in late trade. Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) declined 4.24% or 0.05 points to end at 1.13 and Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI) shed 4.22% or 3.50 points to 79.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 440 to 128 and 10 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.65% or 17.35 to $2,682.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $74.28 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.08 to trade at $76.97 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.12% to 35.36, while EUR/TRY fell 0.15% to 36.46.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.55% at 108.97.
