Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Tourism, Transport and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.36% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which rose 8.35% or 0.450 points to trade at 5.840 at the close. Bizim Toptan Satis Magazalari AS (IS:BIZIM) added 3.32% or 0.26 points to end at 8.10 and Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) was up 2.42% or 0.120 points to 5.070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI), which lost 10.39% or 4.16 points to trade at 35.88 in late trade. Turk Traktor ve Ziraat Makineleri AS (IS:TTRAK) declined 5.92% or 3.90 points to end at 61.95 and Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) shed 3.93% or 0.69 points to 16.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 199 to 157 and 50 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.39% or 5.10 to $1317.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $67.97 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.41 to trade at $74.41 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.19% to 4.0736, while EUR/TRY fell 0.52% to 4.9391.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 91.30.
