Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Insurance, Banking and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.12% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AGROT), which rose 10.00% or 1.79 points to trade at 19.69 at the close. Oba Makarnacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:OBAMS) added 7.60% or 2.74 points to end at 38.78 and Sdt Uzay ve Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:SDTTR) was up 7.42% or 19.75 points to 286.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES), which lost 6.17% or 15.65 points to trade at 238.10 in late trade. AG Anadolu Group Holding (IS:AGHOL) declined 6.10% or 24.50 points to end at 377.00 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) shed 3.35% or 0.90 points to 25.94.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 418 to 136 and 18 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.72% or 17.65 to $2,426.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.86% or 0.63 to hit $73.57 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.54 to trade at $76.84 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.83% to 33.60, while EUR/TRY rose 0.69% to 36.77.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 102.78.
