Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 2.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS), which rose 5.15% or 0.400 points to trade at 8.160 at the close. Albaraka Turk (IS:ALBRK) added 4.76% or 0.060 points to end at 1.320 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 4.71% or 0.210 points to 4.670 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teknosa IC Ve Dis Ticaret (IS:TKNSA), which lost 3.15% or 0.170 points to trade at 5.230 in late trade. Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) declined 2.57% or 0.16 points to end at 6.06 and Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) shed 1.77% or 0.020 points to 1.110.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 272 to 68 and 65 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.33% or 4.45 to $1369.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.55% or 1.04 to hit $41.87 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.16% or 0.93 to trade at $44.03 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.12% to 3.0097, while EUR/TRY fell 0.21% to 3.3547.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.66.
