Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.59% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO), which rose 5.00% or 0.160 points to trade at 3.360 at the close. BIM Birlesik Magazalar AS (IS:BIMAS) added 4.71% or 2.70 points to end at 60.00 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) was up 4.62% or 0.060 points to 1.360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Logo Yazilim Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:LOGO), which lost 4.30% or 2.550 points to trade at 56.750 in late trade. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 2.22% or 0.010 points to end at 0.440 and Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) shed 1.83% or 0.050 points to 2.680.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 232 to 107 and 66 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.73% or 8.99 to $1218.11 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.80% or 0.37 to hit $46.06 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.77% or 0.38 to trade at $48.96 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.06% to 3.5872, while EUR/TRY fell 0.34% to 3.9032.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 99.45.
