Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Sports, Information Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.20% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 17.66% or 4.90 points to trade at 32.65 at the close. Metro Holding (IS:METRO) added 8.51% or 0.080 points to end at 1.020 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) was up 6.03% or 1.90 points to 33.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC), which lost 2.54% or 0.080 points to trade at 3.070 in late trade. Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) declined 1.90% or 0.07 points to end at 3.62 and Menderes Tekstil (IS:MNDRS) shed 1.64% or 0.010 points to 0.610.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 232 to 172 and 10 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.12% or 1.50 to $1226.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.43% or 0.26 to hit $60.28 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.74% or 0.49 to trade at $66.31 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.15% to 2.5781, while EUR/TRY fell 0.80% to 2.9263.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.75% at 93.99.
