Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Basic Metals and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.79% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK), which rose 4.74% or 0.260 points to trade at 5.750 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) added 4.02% or 0.82 points to end at 21.20 and Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) was up 3.90% or 0.030 points to 0.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO), which lost 2.91% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.670 in late trade. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 2.33% or 0.010 points to end at 0.420 and Do-Co (IS:DOCO) shed 2.24% or 5.30 points to 231.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 222 to 117 and 62 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.03% or 0.40 to $1291.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.70% or 0.37 to hit $52.28 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.05% or 0.58 to trade at $54.78 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.85% to 3.6707, while EUR/TRY fell 0.30% to 3.9297.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 99.66.
