Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.78% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vakif Gmyo (IS:VKGYO), which rose 10.30% or 0.240 points to trade at 2.570 at the close. Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) added 6.24% or 0.29 points to end at 4.94 and Turcas Petrol (IS:TRCAS) was up 6.12% or 0.090 points to 1.560 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 3.45% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.280 in late trade. Metro Holding (IS:METRO) declined 3.19% or 0.030 points to end at 0.910 and T. Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB) shed 2.10% or 0.22 points to 10.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 203 to 137 and 67 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.47% or 5.60 to $1194.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.91% or 0.48 to hit $52.53 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.70% or 0.39 to trade at $55.62 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.19% to 3.7543, while EUR/TRY fell 0.11% to 3.9881.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 101.40.
