Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Basic Metals and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD), which rose 8.55% or 0.490 points to trade at 6.220 at the close. Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO) added 3.85% or 1.35 points to end at 36.45 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) was up 3.77% or 0.060 points to 1.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which lost 8.13% or 2.35 points to trade at 26.55 in late trade. Menderes Tekstil (IS:MNDRS) declined 3.51% or 0.020 points to end at 0.550 and Metro Holding (IS:METRO) shed 3.16% or 0.030 points to 0.920.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 213 to 193 and 10 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.03% or 0.30 to $1187.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.21% or 0.12 to hit $57.91 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.44% or 0.92 to trade at $62.80 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.18% to 2.6463, while EUR/TRY rose 0.27% to 2.8815.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 97.49.
