Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Otokar (IS:OTKAR), which rose 4.50% or 5.20 points to trade at 120.70 at the close. Turkcell (IS:TCELL) added 2.52% or 0.24 points to end at 9.78 and Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) was up 2.27% or 0.160 points to 7.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which lost 5.08% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.240 in late trade. Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) declined 4.46% or 0.100 points to end at 2.140 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) shed 4.11% or 0.090 points to 2.100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 165 to 145 and 96 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.77% or 9.40 to $1207.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.92% or 0.42 to hit $45.00 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.41 to trade at $46.08 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.36% to 3.3813, while EUR/TRY fell 0.15% to 3.5776.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 101.45.
