Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Tourism, Technology and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.55% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which rose 4.76% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.320 at the close. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) added 4.65% or 0.060 points to end at 1.350 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 4.55% or 0.010 points to 0.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER), which lost 2.69% or 1.18 points to trade at 42.74 in late trade. Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) declined 1.85% or 0.110 points to end at 5.850 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) shed 1.82% or 0.010 points to 0.540.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 214 to 109 and 87 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.74% or 9.30 to $1245.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.61% or 0.25 to hit $41.39 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.20 to trade at $41.40 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.18% to 2.8617, while EUR/TRY fell 0.45% to 3.2176.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 95.36.
