Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Transport and Tourism sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which rose 8.90% or 0.520 points to trade at 6.360 at the close. Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) added 5.48% or 0.040 points to end at 0.770 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 5.11% or 0.430 points to 8.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN), which lost 4.69% or 0.33 points to trade at 6.71 in late trade. Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) declined 2.49% or 6.00 points to end at 235.00 and Aksa Enerji (IS:AKSEN) shed 2.40% or 0.060 points to 2.440.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 164 to 157 and 85 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.73% or 9.85 to $1347.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $48.23 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.23 to trade at $50.66 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.12% to 2.9307, while EUR/TRY fell 0.17% to 3.3185.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 94.54.
