Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Insurance, Banking and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB), which rose 5.48% or 0.60 points to trade at 11.54 at the close. Enerjisa Enerji AS (IS:ENJSA) added 5.45% or 3.35 points to end at 64.85 and Europower Enerji ve Otomasyon Teknolojileri Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:EUPWR) was up 5.31% or 4.65 points to 92.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:BTCIM), which lost 5.18% or 10.60 points to trade at 194.00 in late trade. AG Anadolu Group Holding (IS:AGHOL) declined 3.82% or 14.00 points to end at 352.75 and Tab Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:TABGD) shed 2.57% or 4.70 points to 178.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 451 to 114 and 9 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.56% or 13.90 to $2,493.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.01% or 1.55 to hit $78.53 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.99% or 1.59 to trade at $81.35 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.07% to 33.62, while EUR/TRY fell 0.16% to 36.94.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 102.71.
