Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Telecoms and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS (IS:KTLEV), which rose 9.95% or 3.82 points to trade at 42.20 at the close. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) added 7.64% or 4.75 points to end at 66.95 and Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) was up 6.62% or 18.50 points to 298.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA), which lost 3.92% or 31.00 points to trade at 759.50 in late trade. Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) declined 2.71% or 24.50 points to end at 880.00 and Migros Ticaret AS (IS:MGROS) shed 2.44% or 13.00 points to 519.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 416 to 136 and 19 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.17% or 4.10 to $2,435.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.55% or 2.60 to hit $75.80 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.10% or 2.37 to trade at $78.85 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.30% to 33.47, while EUR/TRY fell 0.38% to 36.63.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 102.96.
