Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Transport and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS), which rose 7.14% or 0.350 points to trade at 5.250 at the close. Migros Ticaret AS (IS:MGROS) added 6.07% or 1.16 points to end at 20.26 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) was up 4.69% or 0.190 points to 4.240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO), which lost 3.49% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.210 in late trade. Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) declined 2.92% or 0.54 points to end at 17.97 and Deva Holding AS (IS:DEVA) shed 1.58% or 0.070 points to 4.360.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 279 to 75 and 54 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.50% or 6.20 to $1224.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $68.34 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.21 to trade at $73.28 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.96% to 4.7500, while EUR/TRY fell 1.13% to 5.5604.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 94.34.
