Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Telecoms and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF), which rose 5.87% or 10.30 points to trade at 185.70 at the close. Vestel Beyaz Esya Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESBE) added 5.38% or 0.94 points to end at 18.40 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) was up 5.34% or 11.50 points to 226.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Is Yatirim Menkul Degerler AS (IS:ISMEN), which lost 2.35% or 0.76 points to trade at 31.60 in late trade. Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) declined 1.63% or 3.00 points to end at 181.20 and Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR) shed 1.54% or 0.34 points to 21.68.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 373 to 171 and 35 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.44% or 11.80 to $2,690.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.55% or 0.39 to hit $70.19 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.31 to trade at $73.94 a barrel.
USD/TRY was unchanged 0.00% to 34.17, while EUR/TRY fell 0.35% to 37.19.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 103.26.
